So I sucked at blogging last week. I did not get back the next day but it was pretty hectic. I worked over a couple a nights so one night I got home at midnight, missed wed 6am class but still worked out. The other night I worked til 2am and definately missed 6am class but did workout. I added a couple of yoga classes. One was gentle yoga, I ended up asleep at the end and they were waiting for me. I woke up cuz it was eerily quiet and when I looked around everyone was sitting up. The lady next to me was like don't worry you didn't snore. Ah well. The other yoga class was fit yoga. It definitely got the blood flowing. I think I'm going to try to keep these in rotation.
My eating basically sucked, it started with my parents coming in and really, probably I didn't get it under control until this SAT. I actually had a 4000+ cal day (pringles, mom's leftover korean bbq) and then like 3 days over my max between 30-150cal. So last MON WI was 234.0, this past MON 243.4. That's right over the course of the wkend I gained 10lbs! WED SP WI was 238.4, so I got my but moving and from MON to WED I lost 5lbs. Unfortunately, last wks SP WI was 234.8. That's a 3.6 gain on there and my name was in the Hall of Shame. As it should be. But I've been kicking butt this weekend and I'm hoping for any kind of loss tomorrow. Work WI is Tues. Wahh....
I actually exercised the whole time, so it just goes to show you CANNOT out exercise a bad diet. Lesson learned again for the billionth time. I'm still doing well. I think I am going to try to run some 5ks. I'm going to look into Couch 2 5k again. Can't actually run a marathon, if you don't run regular, right? We're posting inspirational vid/arts on SP and there were a couple motivational ones. I'm going to post them here to cuz, I think you'll enjoy.
I've been thinking about your homework and man you came up with a good one. It was really hard. I didn't want to go for something obvious like the butterfly. I wanted something fierce like a dragon (yr we were born) bc of its symbolism but I think that image has been so overused and played out, it's become a gimmick. Thought something symbolic like a phoenix rising from the ashes, but then was like too cliche, melodramatic. Then I thought how bout a sporty car. Like all the rage now is old body style cars (60s-70s) but they're new like 2013 version. You know like the mustang, challenger. But then I thought that's cheesy and I didn't want to be associated with old/nostalgic. But the winner is....drum roll, please...
DAFFODILS!
Yeah, you read right. Those are the first flowers that come out right? When we first moved into the house it was winter and that spring, we had 2 patches of daffodil like probably 6 flowers on each side of the house. But it was too difficult to try to mow around them and it just looked stupid with so little flowers that I just mow them over. But every year the stems pop right back up. The flowers might not appear (or I cut them down before they have a chance), but the stem grow pretty tall. This year with the pretty mild winter we've had, I saw the daffodil stems pop up like 2 wks ago. We've had a couple of snow days since and couple of really cold days and those buggers are still standing tall and just as green. They do not give up. Every year they just keep coming back. I might let them grow their flowers this year, they're so darn stubborn. So that's it. Kinda cheesy but it keep popping back into my mind and well why not? So there it is.
WI tomorrow, will blog even if it's just to tell the weight.
I am grinning so big right now! I LOVE the daffodil thing, that's perfect. Tenacity! To me they've always symbolized hope and a new beginning, which fits too. I never thought of them being tough, but you're right! They are! Perfect.
ReplyDeleteOkay, parents are gone, food's back on track. Sounds like you took your medicine with the gain and are already back on the horse! The yoga thing sounds cool, and I can totally picture you slowly realizing everyone was waiting on you to wake up. Haha!
